Help Wanted: FC Project Leader + Participants

Initiative Developer.

The Feminist Caucus is seeking someone to monitor  the "particular issues and causes" raised during FC exchanges to identify those areas of social need in which FC could be most instrumental, and how. The Initiative Developer will work closely with other FC leaders to consider possible activist means for tackling high priority needs. Sometimes the FC and AHA will work on our own; in other cases we'll work in collaboration with other organizations. Early steps that may proceed from a key need identified are assembling data and views, drafting a position statement with background, and brainstorming options for strategy and tactics. Examples of possible initiatives include these: Create models for childcare during AHA and chapter meetings.  Petition drive to syndicate Jerome McDonnel's World Views on NPR. Pass the ERA. Pass CEDAW. Advocate a USA cabinet- level Department of Peace.  Advocate a Global / UN Cafeteria of Consultation/Assistance for Making Peace through Justice. Ban female genital mutilation / educate about genital cutting. Push for full employment and parental leaves in USA. Educate about need to voluntarily shrink global population. Please contact FC Chair Stephanie Hughes.

Membership Coordinator.

The Feminist Caucus is seeking a new Membership Coordinator  to help keep track of each of our members: each one’s particular interests and involvements relative to the caucus; the dates, types and amounts of service and support rendered. Please contact FC Chair Stephanie Hughes!

Archive Builder.

We want to make the contributions of key leaders and awardees over the years more accessible.  The Archive Builder will help to find and organize the fascinating information about our outstanding contributors, preserving it for posterity and making it available for ongoing use. An FC Chair emeritus would be especially well suited to this project. Volunteer yourself or nominate another.  Please contact FC Chair Stephanie Hughes.

If you have a particular interest that you want to have the FC pursue, a session topic you want to introduce, or any other bright idea, please contact the FC chair!
