Which airport should I fly into? [back to top]
The closest airport is the San Jose International Airport. The Doubletree Hotel San Jose is less than 10 minutes away and offers a free shuttle to and from the airport.
How do I get to the conference hotel? [back to top]
To ride the hotel's free shuttle, call the Doubletree Hotel San Jose front desk at 408-453-4000 using any of the courtesy phones near Baggage Claim or your own cell phone for pick-up instructions. Please have your bags with you when you call.
How do I check-in for the conference? [back to top]
Check-in Registration for the AHA conference will be open from 8:00am to 10:00pm on Thursday, June 3, and from 8:00am-8:00pm on Friday, June 4, and Saturday, June 7.Signs at the hotel will lead you to the AHA registration table, located in the Bayshore Foyer. If you registered online, please bring a copy of your printed registration.
Once you check in, our staff will provide you with your nametag and banquet tickets (if applicable), plus our official conference packet containing a full conference schedule, descriptions of the sessions, and map of the hotel. AHA staff will also be on hand throughout the conference if you need assistance.

If you are interested in more budget-friendly hotel options, you can find them on our "For Students" page. Attendees who would like to stay at a local home can take advantage of home hospitality offered by members of the Humanist Community of Silicon Valley. What will the weather be like? [back to top]
San Jose weather in June is typically mild and pleasant, although unusual circumstances can create hot weather. The average daily high temperature is 79 degrees Fahrenheit; the average daily low temperature is 54 degrees Fahrenheit. Conference rooms are generally kept at a cold temperature, so bring a light jacket or sweater.

Casual dress is acceptable for attending our breakout sessions throughout the day. Some attendees choose to change into business casual or business attire for the evening banquets. Formal attire is not necessary.

What’s interesting to do in San Jose? [back to top]
Plenty! Be sure to sign up for a special "Tour of Silicon Valley" after the conference. The tour includes visits to the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, the home of such companies as Google and Microsoft, and the Tech Museum in San Jose, which includes an IMAX show. Our group will then enjoy a casual dinner at one of the area restaurants in downtown San Jose. The cost is $55 per person, which includes transportation and museum admissions; dinner is on your own.

The Doubletree Hotel San Jose features five unique dining options , including a steakhouse and sushi bar.Downtown San Jose is just a short trip on the city's Light Rail, about a ten-minute walk from the Doubletree San Jose.
